Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James
LeBron James of the Miami Heat is one of the most dominant player in the NBA today, a lot of people may say he is the best player. Reasons for that could be because he won the NBA Championships, Finals MVP and on top of that, 2012 Olympics Gold. But even before all these happened, people would say he (is) the best player in the league. Few would go as far as he could be better than Michael Jordan. They said that before, but since all the good thing that has happen to him this year, more people support that statement.
Charles Barkley on Open Court said "I thought I would never compare somebody to Michael Jordan but this guy (LeBron James) from a basketball view does everything well just like Michael Jordan. He is taller, bigger, stronger and faster than Michael. He guards power forward, he plays power forward."
Shaq said "LeBron James has to win 6 or 7 NBA Championships to be compared to MJ."
Kenny Smith on the other hand said "Michael Jordan never played on a team the same way as Kobe and LBJ have. He never played on a team where anybody on the court got double teamed but him. MJ would never play with a player in his team who got double teamed. He had to carry the team on his back, get double teamed and had to carry that offensive load his entire career not only for a season but his career, AND at the same time became First Team All-Defensive. They will never be anybody like him, because none of these guys today would have that burden on them to carry a team. LBJ got Wade, Kobe had Shaq, now Howard. You can't compare a player to MJ."
BUT, Phil Jackson, one of the best NBA coaches ever had something to say about this. He said winning 6 championships out there is elusive but LeBron James has the potential, and the drive to one day become the best player ever. Now that he got one ring, he got the smell of it, and from what we saw at the Olympics, he was the granted leader and was critical key player to the team. He is in a good position, and if he stays healthy, he's got good things ahead of him.
You cant compare MJ to anyone. Bringing up LBJ before Kobe is just none sense according to many people. But hey, nobody has to agree, you can agree to disagree.
Are we all forgetting Kevin Durant?
