New York Marathon 2012 and Sandy
Hurricane Sandy has done tremendous damages to millions of homes and people. Its still an ongoing issue, and we are all aware of that. Our prayers goes out to those families and homes in need.
However, the New York Marathon has been going on since 1970 and nothing has come in the way for it to happen every single year. Doesn't look like that's about to change either! Dozens of runners, up to 50,000 of them come out and run. This Sunday 4th Nov. the marathon will proceed as planned regardless the hurricane that just occurred. BAAAMMM!!!
According to the New York Times, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the organizers of the race have said the race will still go on as scheduled, "as a symbol of the city’s resilience and ability to rally after hard times."
Not everybody would agree but hey, if you can, I would encourage it. Its fun and it will take a lot of stress out of your head.
On to the basketball court, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks game has been postponed because of the hurricane. No new date scheduled as of now.
Keep your prayers up!
- Stay in Shape
