New York Marathon 2012 and Sandy

Hurricane Sandy has done tremendous damages to millions of homes and people. Its still an ongoing issue, and we are all aware of that. Our prayers goes out to those families and homes in need.

However, the New York Marathon has been going on since 1970 and nothing has come in the way for it to happen every single year. Doesn't look like that's about to change either! Dozens of runners, up to 50,000 of them come out and run. This Sunday 4th Nov. the marathon will proceed as planned regardless the hurricane that just occurred. BAAAMMM!!!

According to the New York Times, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the organizers of the race have said  the race will still go on as scheduled, "as a symbol of the city’s resilience and ability to rally after hard times."

Not everybody would agree but hey, if you can, I would encourage it. Its fun and it will take a lot of stress out of your head.

On to the basketball court, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks game has been postponed because of the hurricane. No new date scheduled as of now.

Keep your prayers up!

He is 70 years old, so I guess its time to chill.

CALIPARI SETTING SIGHTS ON PERFECT SEASON

Winning the national championship last year wasn’t enough for University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball coach John Calipari. For him it’s already a “been there done that” feat, and now he has a new goal…A PERFECT SEASON. While at the University of Memphis Calipari went 38-2 during the 2007-2008 season when he had studs like Derrick Rose, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Joey Dorsey. Last year his Kentucky team also went 38-2. Kentucky proved the losses didn’t matter by rolling over almost every opponent the rest of the season en route to their national title victory.

Nerlens Noel

Andrew and Aaron Harrison
Calipari isn’t sure exactly when that perfect season will come but he is expecting it within the next 2-3 years. His squad comes into this year ranked number #3 with big recruits like Nerlens Noel but he’s even more excited about the recruits he’s landed for next season. He has already landed 4 of the top 15 high school players in the class of 2013 including twins Andrew and Aaron Harrison from Fort Bend, TX who rank 3rd and 4th in the country. The experts are saying that there is still a chance that Kentucky could land the top rated player in the country Julius Randle, and on top of that the top rated junior Andrew Wiggins might reclassify as a senior and also sign with Kentucky. If it all goes down like that Kentucky would have the best recruiting class in history and a 2013-2014 squad that would be virtually untouchable. That’s an extremely frightening possibility that I’m sure every other school in the nation is praying doesn’t happen. Even without Randle and Wiggins the UK 2013 recruiting class should still be the top class in the nation.

As a University of Memphis alumni I am supposed to dislike John Calipari because he left us for Kentucky but I find it hard to hate on a man that went after what he called “his career goal”. I was happy for him when Kentucky won the title last season and I wouldn’t mind seeing him accomplish his goal of a perfect season.

Thanks for reading.

NBA and its 90seconds rule 2012

N.B.A. has had enough of basketball games not starting on time.

Many of you might not know that the teams and players have "technically" 90 seconds to start the game after introductions. But as we see on almost every game that's being played, nobody cares about that "rule".

Now, things are changing starting of this season. There will be sanctions in case the rule isn't followed. After introductions, each team will have 90 seconds to huddle or do whatever they like before reporting for tip off. If they aren't able to do so, they'll face a delay-game warning and two delay-game warnings will result a technical foul. Really??? YES, not that a technical foul changes a lot, but its about starting the game on time.

I'm pretty sure that fans don't mind watching their teams and players for more than 90 seconds before tip-off. So this rule........yeah I don't know!

Sorry to say but players may not be able to do their handshakes, little chitchat or whatnot anymore. According to New York Times Kevin Durant said "Every player in this league has routines they do with their teammates. The fans enjoy it. To cut that down really don’t make no sense."

Is this the N.B.A. trying to get more control over the games and their players in every way possible? Or they just didn't had anything to do, and said "hey, we cant have another lockout, but is there anything else we can do to piss off the players"

LeBron James pre-game Power Tossing, hmmm he might not be able to enjoy it all the way. Toss-2seconds-spread the arms-OKAY LETSGO .... "did I make it", Spoelstra "you were close, 1second next time okay."

D Wade pre game pull-ups at the rim.....minimize it to 4 if he's fast... Spoelstra "1, 2, (3seconds left, WADE ITS ENOUGH), 4" OH he made it. "Next time 3 alright."

Superman, I guess he just has to fly in right away. No time for Lois Lane & all that!

Lame!!!!

Nike done with Lance Armstrong

Go on...give us the sad face....
After years of being allegedly accused for doping, Nike ended their contract with Lance Armstrong.

This was a result of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report which stated the direct involvement Mr. Armstrong has had with doping.

Not did only Nike say bye bye to him but he's also BANNED for life from cycling.

All athletes, professionals and amateurs stay away from this sort of thing.

Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James

LeBron James of the Miami Heat is one of the most dominant player in the NBA today, a lot of people may say he is the best player. Reasons for that could be because he won the NBA Championships, Finals MVP and on top of that, 2012 Olympics Gold. But even before all these happened, people would say he (is) the best player in the league. Few would go as far as he could be better than Michael Jordan. They said that before, but since all the good thing that has happen to him this year, more people support that statement.

Charles Barkley on Open Court said "I thought I would never compare somebody to Michael Jordan but this guy (LeBron James) from a basketball view does everything well just like Michael Jordan. He is taller, bigger, stronger and faster than Michael. He guards power forward, he plays power forward."

Shaq said "LeBron James has to win 6 or 7 NBA Championships to be compared to MJ."

Kenny Smith on the other hand said "Michael Jordan never played on a team the same way as Kobe and LBJ have. He never played on a team where anybody on the court got double teamed but him. MJ would never play with a player in his team who got double teamed. He had to carry the team on his back, get double teamed and had to carry that offensive load his entire career not only for a season but his career, AND at the same time became First Team All-Defensive. They will never be anybody like him, because none of these guys today would have that burden on them to carry a team. LBJ got Wade, Kobe had Shaq, now Howard. You can't compare a player to MJ."

BUT, Phil Jackson, one of the best NBA coaches ever had something to say about this. He said winning 6 championships out there is elusive but LeBron James has the potential, and the drive to one day become the best player ever. Now that he got one ring, he got the smell of it, and from what we saw at the Olympics, he was the granted leader and was critical key player to the team. He is in a good position, and if he stays healthy, he's got good things ahead of him.

You cant compare MJ to anyone. Bringing up LBJ before Kobe is just none sense according to many people. But hey, nobody has to agree, you can agree to disagree.

Are we all forgetting Kevin Durant?

Nobel Prize 2012

How was fast is your computer?

Hard work pays off
Frenchman Serge Haroche and American David Wineland won The Nobel Prize 2012 in Physics for work on quantum particles. Researchers work day in and day out to figure out how we "normal humans" can do various things faster, better and stronger. Quantum physics, or quantum theory basically explains how to calculate future outcomes involving biological and physical systems. Its more to it than that, but thats the easy "average human" needs to know to begin with. These guys found a way to build quantum computers in a way by using mathematics, and the result of it is creating fast computers and the ability to store much more data than we can today.

Developing the future!

Study hard, maybe one day you'll win The Nobel Prize in something!

On stage vomiting, why?

Is this a new trend or what? Bieber first, and Gaga said what the heck, lets do this!

Gaga: "I'm throwing up, and this guy is dancing..." thats what she might be thinking
Let it all out soldier...its okay, take your time!!
Superstars are vomiting on stage these days in front of their fans. Lady Gaga during her performance in Barcelona gig showed everybody what she had for lunch...eeeeewwww!!!! Poker Face or PUKE Face, I dont know which one you guys prefer, but come on now.... I guess somethings you just cant control? Really? She tweeted where she had lunch before her performance, okay....With all the great energy she brings to the stage like we all know, shouldn't she be more careful eating "heavy" before a concert? Or maybe its a trend now a days, because apparently your boy Justin Bieber also puked on stage in Arizona last week. Did he had a fever, no, he laughed about it and said "I had milk before stage", oh momma...... maybe he can get away with it since he's still a kid. Who's next?

Roadkill found in a Kentucky Chinese Restaurant

Customers that were eating at the Red Flower Chines Restaurant in Williamsburg, KY yesterday saw a very unpleasant sight. A few employees were seen carrying a dead deer in a trash barrel across the restaurant and into the kitchen. Customers also noticed a few employees behind them mopping the blood trail left by the dead deer. Officials were immediately alerted of the situation and the restaurant has been shut down temporarily. When asked what was going on the restaurant manager replied “I didn’t think we were doing anything wrong. We weren’t going to serve the deer, I was going to take it home to feed my family.

If this guy and his family like eating deer that’s fine but he went about this the wrong way. First of all, why would you have your employees carry the deer across the restaurant where people could easily see it, and not to mention it was leaving a blood trail. Second of all, why exactly was it being taken to his kitchen? Why not put it in the back of the restaurant in like a tub of ice or something? The restaurant is still eligible to reopen but if they did not think they were doing anything wrong then they probably did it before and that’s just disgusting. People need to think before they act.

LAKERS VS. HEAT

Nash, Howard, Kobe, Pau and WorldPeace

Wade, Lewis, Bosh, James and Allen

Or will they be stopped by Kobe/Howard duo? They might, but a fact is Miami Heat bench is a lot better than Lakers bench, which could open doors for Durant and OKC to go all the way.
