Week 4 for the National Football League, and as we all have witnessed a lot of action is happening with the teams, players, referee's and coaches. We wonder today if the New Orleans Saints are going for 0-4 hole ? 3 losses for the Saints this season so far hmmmm not looking good at all. They are playing against Green Bay Packers at 4:25pm ET today (Sunday Sept 30)..... Drew Brees what's it gonna be? Aaron Rodgers can you win?

Jay Z brings out the Brooklyn Nets Jersey

Jay Z unveils the Brooklyn Nets new uniform Friday, September 28th. Before we go into the basketball  uniforms, let just mention that this was one of the eight sold-out concerts in Jay Z's history. He made it big, he did what was expected and much more. "I've been on bigger stages. I've been all around the world. Nothing feels like tonight. I'm really overwhelmed by the moment." said Jay Z according to the New York Times. Off course it is, he is one of the Brooklyn Nets owners, and the first one to show the world their new uniforms, and let everybody know Brooklyn will be one the top with the rest of the league. NBA season is right around the corner folks. The Nets open their first game of the season Nov.1 at their new $1 billion arena against main rival New York Knicks. GET READY!!!

Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr.

Two of the most prominent and talented boxers in the world, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. won't fight each other in the ring, and as of right now they wont fight in court either. Ya'll are boxers, you need to be fighting each other to give the fans what they want to see...BUT......that's not happening any time soon!!!   The cause was Mayweather Jr.  allegedly accused Pacquiao for using performance enhancing drugs, and then Pacquiao sued Mayweather  Jr. for defamation. Years of going front and back, lawsuits are dropped and settlement agreement is the reached.

FANS wants you to FIGHT....if not in the ring, at least in court....or the other way around

Throw a hat on field during a game?

Dallas Cowboys versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the referee famous? or NOT!  I still cant believe this even though it happened two days ago. Who are you? A replacement referee tosses hit hat on the field causing a wide receiver to trip? I repeat, A REPLACEMENT referee..... dude why in earth would you throw a hat when you are a replacement? Is this like a reality show where you want to be famous and be on TV? a groupie in the mix? Luckily the Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Kevin Ogletree didn't get injured. What happened to "Stay in your lane" motto? You probably ain't a Kevin Hart fan but Stay in Your Lane, which means don't be tossing no hats on field Mr. Replacement.  Look at the video how disrespectful the referee on the sideline is:

Tiger Woods after 2012 FedEx Cup Title in Atlanta

Tiger Woods is at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta looking for another FedEx Cup title. He won both in 2007 and 2009, and now he is back at it to win the tournament and hopefully take home $10 million in bonus. As of Thursday September 20th, he is leading overall with Englishman Justin Rose right behind him.

There are a lot of musicians out there and a lot of good music that most of us never hear. You can discover unsigned and unknown hype on various websites but they are usually limited to certain genres. Talented College Football Players: USC's Robert Woods and Marqise Lee

Only two weeks left till the 2012 College Football Season kicks it off.....Which teams looks to be the team to beat, who is the team who can surprise and who is the team everybody wants to watch? LSU dominance will probably happen again even though Tyrann Mathieu is not playing no, sophomore Odell Beckham Jr.  is taking good care of the punt duties. Alabama is a dangerous team so watch out! Period!

BUT what about USC? University of Southern California Trojans Football team have extremely talented Wide Receivers, Marqise Lee and Robert Woods who have already poised for a historic season. The way things are going for these two guys and the team,............. DO WE SEE A BCS GAME IN THEIR NEAR FUTURE? It definitely looks like it as of right now.

Tim Tebow Jets and Trades

Soooooooooo..... The New York Jets won their game against Buffalo Bills 48-28. A great win for the Jets and Sanchez. BUT, yeah there is a BUT.... JUST when everything is going smoothly......Tim Tebow doesn't look like he is happy to be the back-up quarterback, CMP/ATT: 0/0, PASS YDS: 0, RUSH: 5. RUSH YDS: 11, TOTAL TD: 0 AND TOTAL PLAYS: 12.

He thought he was going to win that starting job, but as of right now its Mark Sanchez who got that role and Tebow on the side lines. A lot of speculations that Tebow doesn't like that, and if he doesn't get that starting job.....he might want to be traded after the season. Biggest question arises then, who wants him as the starting QB?

Event: 110m Hurdles, WR: 12.80s - World Record, Meeting Record, American Record, Olympic Champion, Fastest man EVER to run that fast over Hurdles, Diamond Winner, FIRST man to run sub 13s 8-times in a single season......What else can you ask for you from an athlete in a season? All records at the SAME DAMN TIME! Aries Merritt of the U.S. is the man who achieved all that. "So this here is the victory lap, then I'm lea-vin, thats how you get me back" - Jay Z...thats pretty much what he did after the diamond race. Congratulations to Mr. Merritt and his achievements, he said and I quote "This was the best race of my life." PASUE, I don't know what race would be better than breaking the world record race. Season is over now, its time to collect assets. See you next season, I would say come back stronger, better and faster but I don't know if thats the case right now. Lets just say stay healthy! Thats good enough wouldn't you say so! 

Another Diamond Winner, World Record Holder, 6x Olympic Champion, World Champion....a lot more, you already know who it is, ......... Usain BOLT, lightening Bolt ended his season with the 100m and won the Diamond Race. Was it expected, I don't know, Was he Expecting it, I can't tell you, Did he win.....Absolutely! 

A mother of two, World Indoor Champion, 28-year old Chaunte Lowe of the U.S. is the Women High Jump Diamond Winner. What a wonderful job she did this season, she would say "came up short" in the Olympic Finals where she placed 6th, others would say thats a great achievement. We are all athletes, almost never happy with our achievement, if you get the GOLD this year, you are hungry for the next one. Is that Competitive edge that drives you! Anyways...Good job Chaunte, and good luck next year. 

Should I say the fastest woman alive TODAY? Maybe I can....I will, I am going to...THE fastest Woman Alive today, World Champion, 2008 Olympic Champion, 2012 Olympic Champion, the one and only Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce from Jamaica run away with the Diamond. Nobody could catch her, so it was annonymes decision to give her that.....NO! She deserved it, she earned and worked hard the whole year to be on the top. She is a Diamond Winner! See you next year Shelly!

World Champion and Olympic Champion, the young Christian Taylor is the Diamond Winner in the mens Triple Jump. Just 22 years of age and already won what every athlete strives their whole athletic life. Well done youngster and good luck next year!

World Junior Champion, Silver 4x400 Medalist 2011, Kaliese Spencer, the strongest 400m hurdler the whole 2012 season, we were all thinking that she was going to win the Olympics, but due to injuries she came up short, and disappointed at the London 2012 Olympic Finals. She got 4th place with season best with a time that she could run easily if she wasn't injured. Great Effort Kaliese, just 25 years of age, you got at least one more Olympics in you. Prepare yourself, but first go  and get that GOLD next year at the World Championships! She is your 2012 Diamond WINNER, thats a good way to end the season!  

Diamond Winner, the 2008 Olympic Champion, 2012 Silver Medalist Dawn Haper, you got to love her. In 2008, she had upto 3jobs and track did track when she could, injuries and all the things you don't wish an athlete should experience, but she came through and BEAT everybody at the Beijing Olympics. Thats a soldier right there, she is strong and will compete to the highest level every time she steps on the track. Watch out for her next year!

Here on the futuristic blog we are starting a series of posts called
"did you know?" where we will tell you about things that go on around

Did you know that in Venice, Italy it is illegal to drive cars around
the narrow city streets? The only way to travel around the city is by
boat or "Gondolas". Venice has many canals and "Gondoliers" will
transport you around the city through these tight narrow canals.
Speaking of Gondoliers, I bet you also didn't know that thousands of
men in Venice apply to be Gondoliers each year but only a handful are
chosen.

China has their great wall but did you know that in Australia there is
a sharp chain link fence that stretches for thousands of miles across
the country's interior? The fence was built to keep Australia's wild
dogs away from cattle. According to the statistics the wild dogs dogs
could maul up to 25 cows or other animals per night if allowed easy
access.

Did you know that instead of driving or taking a taxi in the rush hour
traffic, executives of companies in Sao Paulo, Brazil ride in
helicopters to work? Yes, in fact companies figure that it is worth
paying for their top executives to be flown to work instead of wasting
precious time in traffic because we all know that time is money.

Did you know that the Faneuil Hall marketplace in Boston,
Massachusetts is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the
world. With about 18 million visitors per year it was ranked number 7
on travelandleisure.com's list of most visited attractions. Faneuil
Hall has over 100 specialty shops and also great restaurants and bars.
It was the location of many speeches by America's founding fathers and
it also sits in the middle Boston's government center and financial
district making it a perfect place to see the past and present of the
historic city.

Justin Timberlake become owner of Memphis Grizzlies?

YES!!!!
If you are a real NBA fan, then you might have seen the singer Justin Timberlake in NBA games across the nation whenever he can. He loves basketball, and the Memphis native now wants to be part of the Grizzlies and Robert Pera's team. According to ESPN Justin Timberlake "plans to be active" with the team and "will make meaningful investment into the team".

More money equal more great athletes to bring to the city of Memphis, so hey...Good for the Grizzlies and its fans.

Blade Runner breaks 200m World Record

At the 2012 London Paralympics Games, Oscar Pistorius also known as the Blade Runner broke the 200m World Record during the heats with a time of 21.30s shaving more than a half second from the previous record which was set by the Brazilian Alan Oliver.

Even though he set a new world record, the 20-year old Brazilian Alan Oliver managed to beat Oscar and take home the Gold in the 200m final with a time of 21.45s. Sad for Oscar but a huge win for Oliver who said "Oscar is my idol." Oscar took the silver.

One silver, but now the hunger for the Gold got even bigger. The South African team with Oscar Pistorius as the anchor broke the 4x100 world record with a time 41.78s. What a great night for the Blade Runner and his nation. Two World Records, 1 Gold and 1 Silver, next up is the 400m which is his main event.

London Olympic 2012 Semi Final, Oscar 8th place. Kirani James won

Oscar is one of the best 400m runners in the world, 45.07s, he competes with the best of the best like Kirani James from Grenada and LaShawn Merritt of the U.S. Both in London 2012 Olympic Games and World Championship Daegu 2011 he advanced to the semis, but failed to qualify for the finals.

He is phenomenal athlete and an idol for many many people across the globe.

Usain Bolt will play for Manchester United

 Sir Alex Ferguson said that sprint Legand Usain Bolt may play for the club in a charity game next year against Real Madrid. 

According Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world ever, said that "People think I'm joking, but if Alex Ferguson called me and said OK lets go, it would be impossible for me to say no". He said that he knows what it takes to play at that level and he wouldn't say anything unless he was sure that he can do it. 

Well one thing is for sure, pass the ball to him and he'll outrun everybody ....the rest I don't know, can he shoot? We'll see...

This isn't 100m or 200m, its anaerobic and aerobic running with pushing, passing, shooting, tackling, basically a whole different sports aspect than track and field. 

Sir Alex Ferguson is definitely happy to let him play that game, "Usain's a character and a big United fan, it could be brilliant."

Ferguson: "I'll be making a lot of money on you that day ha-ha"...Usain: "Ha-ha, you don't know the half of it Sir"

This is awesome people....What if he becomes permanent soccer player? WoW...I'm excited!

On this blog, sometimes we invite people to share something with us, a story, something about themselves, news or anything else that they would love to talk about. Fabian Fiege from Germany, who now is a sophomore student-athlete at the University of Memphis, and considered to be one of the young up-and-coming athletes in college track and field would like to share his views on the event 800m with us. Regional Qualifier Fabian Fiege

Hey everybody, I am Fabian and a former teammate of Abdi at the U of M. I also run the 800m like him and PR last season in my freshman year with a 1:49.83.

I am back in Memphis for a little more than 1 week but missed the first meet XC due to Bronchitis -.-, but I am getting back maybe I can run the next XC meet 

I don't really know what to talk about but maybe a little about how the 800m race changed in the last couple of years. All the young Africans changed this distance tremendously!!! If you think about Rudisha (23 years old), Aman (18 years) or Amos (18 years)....It is insane, Rudisha ran WR at the 2012 Olympics in 1:40.91 and Amos got second in 1:41.73 WJR!!!! Only a few weeks earlier Amos won the Junior Worlds in Barcelona injured! These times are far away from what any European can run at the moment.... To me it seems like the 800 is not a middle distance more at big international meets. They dont run it as tactical like they did 12 or 8 years ago, where Schumann and Borsakowski were able to win with a kick. Nowadays it is more like sprinting the whole way....I wonder if any European will be able to catch up with the African dominance, I mean you saw on the 1500m that you can run in the front as a white person (Manzano, Centro) so for me it would be interesting if they would meets where a distance like 1000m would be offered. I think the best 800m runners nowadays are 400/800 runners and not 800/1500 anymore like at Coe's or Cram's times (except "El Caballo" Juantorena 76) so this distance would make it possible for both group of runners to compete against each other "on a fair level"...

Hot Couple Ended Engagement

One of the hottest couples in the sports industry, Maria Sharapova and Sacha Vujacic just ended their almost two year engagement. Nothing negative haters, it just couldn't work because of their career schedules. I guess Skype didn't do much huh?  According to Maria, it was too much traveling and time away from each other that they agree to go different ways, "I still would love to call him as a friend" she said. Yeah Maria, I don't know if he wants to be friends but guess you never know. Former Lakers Forward is now in Turkey, and this is one of the reasons why the relationship couldn't works.

Who goes home with the Diamonds?

Every sport have different ways of awarding their athletes, NBA with the NBA Championships rings, NFL with the Superbowl rings, Soccer with the Championship League cup, Tennis, Golf, Swimming etc, and you know the drill. The biggest things in Track and Field besides World Championships and Olympics are the Diamond League races. The athletes compete in 13 different meetings from May to September every year in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Places like Doha, Shanghai, Rome, Eugene, Oslo, New York, Paris, London, Monaco, Stockholm, Lausanne, Birmingham, Zurich and Brussels. The huge award like every other sports get is in the name itself, DIAMONDS baby, a Diamond Trophy and Prize money. There are 32 Individual Event Disciplines, and the best athlete in each event is awarded for being #1 in the World that year. This is easy math isn't it, you have to win 7 of the 13 meetings to win the Diamonds. Not only that, in Stockholm, Sweden, for example if you break the stadium record you will receive one-carat diamond in addition to extra funds etc. Its pretty cool. It takes a lot to stay on top and perform at a high level for so many months in addition to participate all the championships both domestic and international, so tune in to the last meeting and the critical one for many great athletes which is this Friday 7th September 2012, and we'll see who goes home with the diamonds. YES USAIN BOLT will be fighting for to get that diamond trophy among others like Tyson Gay, the World Champion. It will definitely be exciting! I promise you that!

Usher gets primary custody of his sons

                                      T: It ain't over boo-boo.....U:Is that so, should I file restraining order as well?

Earlier in the summer we mentioned that singer Usher Raymond and his ex-wife Tameka Foster were in a custody trial for their two sons, Usher V, 4 years old and Naviyd (in Persian means Good News) who is 3. Because of my lack of knowledge I always thought Naviyd was Pakistani or Indian name, but its actually Iranian. Interesting! But anyways, Usher Raymond won the trial, and is now granted primary custody of his two sons.

Tameka said that she will appeal the case, because she thinks she'll take care of the children better than Usher. Her reason is that Usher travels a lot and wont have time to build the relationship needed for their sons, and he also doesn't have a good relationship with his mother whom he has testified was part of the family unit who will help him take care of the kids.

Well Tameka, the judge wasn't on your side this time, maybe the appeal will help. Time will tell!
